Transformers

All discussion of the bots on this page will mainly be about their 2005 IDW cont. iterations unless otherwise stated!

I absolutely love the Lost Light comics, each character has so much going on, and I can't help but root for the whole crew, even characters that aren't part of the crew :') The characters listed here are some of my top favorites, but honorable mentions go to Tailgate, Cyclonus, Rewind, and Whirl as well ^^

Ratchet

RATCHETTT my favorite!! I really like the take on his story that MTMTE picks up on, with him late in his career, feeling like he's losing his touch, and part of his reasoning for boarding the Lost Light being to look for a successor. At this point he's lowkey a living legend, and he gets so much thrown at him, like everyone else on the ship. He's crabby, set in his ways, and callous at times, but he's got every right to be! And he cares so deeply for his crew!

I keep thinking about the Delphi + Luna 1 arcs with him + his relationships with his fellow medics, moreso with First Aid. Even when Overlord gets loose, one of the things he highlights as what could be his last wishes is telling First Aid he's ready to take on the role of CMO AAUUUUGHHHH

I still have a long way to go in the story (and I've already gotten spoiled on his fate by the end of it), but I'm really enjoying Ratchet so far! His design's sick in S2 with the bright red crest and details on his helm, more compartments at his hips, and his new color palette. To be honest, I found myself getting him mixed up with Pharma a lot during the Delphi arc panels... It's the white crest-on-red helm... tbh there's a *lot* of white and red guys in MTMTE now that I think about it...

I've checked him out in a couple other iterations too, I really like his design in TFP and TFA, and I like his voice in these versions a lot! They're pretty different from each other, between a harsher and overall softer tone, but I think both can suit his character really well. Did not expect Herbert West Reanimator to be his VA but honestly I can't picture him as anyone else now, haha

Swerve

Misfire

I feel like I like Misfire for much of the same reaosns I like Swerve! ':D Both tend to ramble a lot, and I think it's a really endearing quirk for both of them to have. They have their parallels with narrating to an audience, in a more literal sense in Swerve's case with the metabomb, and being a big part of the comic relief for their respective parties. I'm sure it's the case for a lot of other people who read through MTMTE, especially those who read it as it was coming out, but I love the Scavengers for their whole angle on the decepticons, too.
